Itinerary

Day 1 Pilanesberg – Game Drive

In the morning you will be collected from your Hotel or the Airport in Johannesburg and we head towards the mountainous Pilanesberg National Park. We check in at Manyane or Bakgatla Resort before embarking on an afternoon game drive in search of the “Big 5” in the park.

Day 2 Van Zylsrus – Meerkat Experience

An early start will lead us westwards through many small towns, into the Kalahari and on to Van Zylsrus. Enjoy a sundowner on the red dune overlooking the Kalahari sands. Van Zylsrus Hotel

Day 3 & 4 Kgalagadi – Game Drives

Before first light we set off to visit the world famous stars of the TV show “Meerkat Manor”. These habituated Meerkat’s are totally wild yet unafraid of humans and form part of one of the longest wildlife studies on record. Watch them wake up and begin their daily chores and walk a mile in the shoes of a clan member. We continue to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park end experience the beauty and solitude of the Kalahari at its finest. The next morning we go on a full day game drive in search of elusive predators and wildlife. Twee Rivieren and Mata Mata.

Day 5 Keetmanshoop – Quiver Tree Forest

We leave the park and enter Namibia. Quiver Tree Forest Camp is situated adjacent to a quiver tree forest just outside from Ketmanshoop. We go for a hike through massive boulder and quiver trees in this alien landscape in search of that perfect photograph.

Day 6 & 7 Luederitz – Kolmanskop and Diaz Point tours

The road takes us due West towards the Atlantic Ocean and the small German settler town of Luedeitz. On route we stop at Aus to in search of wild horses that have made these desert plains their home. This afternoon you can explore the town at your leisure. The following morning we explore the old Ghost town of Kolmanskop followed by a peninsula tour ending at Diaz Point. The Nest Hotel

Day 8 Visit Fish River Canyon

On route to the Canyon Roadhouse we check in on the wild horses again before heading south. In the afternoon we visit the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon on earth. Dramatic landscapes and panoramic views will delight the senses as we watch the sun set over the canyon.

Day 9 & 10 Kayak the Orange River

On our way south we stop at the Ais-Ais hot springs for lunch and a quick dip and onto Felix Unite. The next morning we go on a leisurely river paddle along the gently flowing Orange River. The afternoon is at your leisure.

Day 11 & 12 Namaqualand – Explore the flowering fields

Today we cross back into South Africa and the scenery begins to change. With every Kilometre the vegetation becomes lusher. The vast array of plants and succulents is mind blowing as carpets of bloom begin to appear along the road. The most beautiful flower fields are in the national parks and we explore these in the region. Agama Tented Camp

Day 13 - 15 Cape Town – Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope

Our final leg of the trip takes us to Cape Town, the Mother City. A brief city orientation will lead us to the Camps Bay Park Studios or Camps Bay Resort. We visit the Cape of Good Hope, Table Mountain and have plenty of time to spare for your personal interest.
