This adventurous 15 day, accommodated (13) and camping (2) safari through Botswana begins in the peaks of the Waterberg Mountains and ends in the roar of the mighty Victoria Falls. Rhinos, vast salt pans, the Okavango and true African wilderness await he explorer...
In the morning you will be collected from your Hotel or the Airport in Johannesburg as we head northwest ward to the Marakele National Park in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains. In the late afternoon we go on a game drive that leads us to the pinnacle of a mountain with spectacular views of the region. Tlopi Tented Camp
Today we head across the border into Botswana and onto the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. In the afternoon we go on a game drive in search of Rhino’s before enjoying the sunset over one of the pans. Chalets or Camping
Heading north we enter the desolate Makgadikgadi pans – vast salt flats, remnants of ancient lakes- on our way to Kubu Island. This rocky outcrop is home to hundreds of ancient Baobab trees and offers superb photographic opportunities. We explore the island at leisure. Camping
We continue our journey through the Makgadikgadi pans and onto Planet Baobab. In the afternoon you have time to relax and enjoy the self-proclaimed largest swimming pool in the Kalahari. The following morning we head out in open safari vehicles to view habituated Meerkats living on the edge of the pans. Rondavels
The road leads us to Maun, the unofficial capital of the Okavango. The afternoon is set aside to relax or go on an optional scenic flight over the delta and see first-hand what the maze of channels looks like from above. Thamalakane River Lodge or Cresta Rileys.
The true wilderness starts today as we board open safari vehicles to head north to Mogotlo Safari Lodge, a private concession on the outskirts of Kwai and Moremi Game Reserves. We explore the region on a night drive and a full day Kwai/Moremi game drive.
We continue north, deep into Savuti, a remote wilderness camp around a campfire awaits us as we settle in to sounds of the African bush. We explore the area with our expert guide in a safari vehicle, learning and watching the natural spectacle unfold. Mobile Safari Camp
After a leisurely breakfast we continue north and on to Kasane - gateway to the Chobe National Park. Chobe Safari Lodge is situated along the banks of the mighty Chobe River. The following morning we get up early to go on an open vehicle safari in the Park, followed by a late afternoon river cruise.
The final leg of this tour brings us to Victoria Falls. In the afternoon we go on a tour of the majestic falls. The following day and a half, you will have time to partake in any of the optional activities on offer until you are transferred to the airport around noon on the final day.
